Mickey Rourke Broke Two Other Cbb Rules Before Making Homophobic Comment Towards Jojo Siwa

Rourke's stint in the Celebrity Big Brother house is shaping up to be a controversial one

Mickey Rourke has been on the receiving end of backlash once again after he made a series of 'homophobic' remarks to fellow Celebrity Big Brother contestant JoJo Siwa.

We're just days into the latest CBB series and the 72-year-old actor has already found himself in hot water for his controversial behaviour and comments.

Rourke - who is best known for his appearances in films such as The Wrestler, Sin City, and Iron Man 2 - made headlines for his inappropriate behaviour towards host AJ Odudu ahead of his entry into the house, while last night's (9 April) episode saw him receive a formal warning from Big Brother.

During a conversation with singer and internet personality Siwa, 21, Rourke inquired about her sexuality before making a series of homophobic comments which led to him receiving a stern warning about 'unacceptable language and behaviour' inside the house.

However this wasn't the only time Rourke has fallen foul of Big Brother's rules since entering the house.

According to the Daily Star, Rourke had two further run-ins with CBB rules before his uncomfortable comments towards Siwa. Earlier in the episode Rourke was told off twice by producers for messing with show equipment.

He was first caught covering up cameras in the bedroom, before being told off for not wearing his personal microphone.

According to the rules of the Big Brother house, celebrities are expected to be filmed for 24 hours a day and are forbidden from interfering with cameras or sound equipment. They are also expected to wear personal microphones at all times, with the exception of sleeping, showering or bathing, in order to prohibit housemates from having personal conversations.

Both incidents occurred before Rourke's interaction with Siwa, responding to the 'Karma' singer's sexuality by telling her that 'if [he stays] longer than four days, you won’t be gay anymore’.

Siwa swiftly shut down his comments by saying that she could 'guarantee' that such a scenario wouldn't happen.

Rourke couldn't seem to let his fixation with Siwa's sexuality go, later being overheard telling fellow contestant Chris Hughes that he was ‘going to vote the lesbian out real quick’.

The grim comment was overheard by Siwa, who was understandably upset and responded: “That’s homophobic, if that was your reasoning.”

It didn't end there either as Rourke shockingly then declared that he was going for a 'f*g', before pointing to Siwa and saying: "I’m not talking to you."

He then clarified he meant a cigarette and was not referring to the homophobic slur.

Rourke was later pulled into the diary room and given a formal warning, to which he responded by saying: “I apologise. I don’t have dishonourable intentions - I’m just talking smack, you know.

"I wasn’t taking it all so serious. I didn’t mean in it any bad intentions and if I did, sorry."

He then apologised to Siwa herself. He told her: "I want to apologise. I've got a habit of having a short fuse. And I don't mean nothing by it. I do mean it [sorry]. If I didn't, I wouldn't say it to you."

She then replied: "I appreciate your apology."
