Marjorie Taylor Greene refused to take questions from the British reporter after finding out her nationality
US representative Marjorie Taylor Greene blasted a British reporter and told her to 'go back to her own country' in a tense exchange yesterday (26 March).
The controversial Georgia congresswoman, 50, refused to answer any questions that Sky News correspondent Martha Kelner posed to her she heard the journalist's UK accent.
Greene - often referred to by her initials MTG - appeared to become enraged by the mere sound of Kelner's voice in the shocking clip, which has since gone viral on social media.
She was taking questions from reporters after chairing a DOGE committee hearing, during which she called for government funding for public broadcasters such as NPR and PBS to be cut.
While she was conversing with the media in wake of the 'Anti-American Airwaves: Holding the heads of NPR and PBS Accountable' hearing, Kelner began to ask the congresswoman about US Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth.

He was among the top officials in the Signal group chat, which the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, Jeffrey Goldberg, was inadvertently added to by security adviser Mike Waltz while they discussed military strikes on the Houthis in Yemen. The shocking incident saw Waltz described by an unnamed official as a 'f**king idiot'.
But before Kelner had even finished her sentence about Hegseth, Greene cut her off to ask: "What country are you from?"
After the reporter explained she was from the UK, the Republican completely shut down the conversation.

"We don't give a crap about your opinion and your reporting," Greene said. "Why don't you go back to your country, where you have a major migrant problem?
"You should care about your own borders."
Kelner didn't back down though and proceeded to ask the congresswoman whether she 'cared about American lives being put at risk' due to the Signal group chat blunder.
Greene again bypassed the question, instead saying: "Let me tell you something - do you care about people from your country? What about all the women that are raped by migrants?
"You're done. I don't care about your fake news," she fumed, before turning to an American journalist and asking whether he had 'a relevant question'.
In what seemed to be a show of solidarity with Kelner, the US journalist then pressed Greene to cough up an 'answer to what [Kelner] had asked'.
But the congresswoman still wouldn't budge and responded: "I'm not answering her question because I don't care about her network. If you would like to ask, I can answer."

After he reiterated Kelner's question, Greene once again decided to dodge the topic and instead rerouted the conversation to what she claimed was the 'complete disregard for operational security' during Joe Biden's presidency.
"You should talk about the Biden administration and how they ripped our borders open to terrorists, cartel, child sex trafficking, human trafficking and drug trafficking across our borders for four years," she said.
"The Trump administration is doing a great job and I stand by their statements. My comment to you is I'm thankful to President Trump, that he is leading us out of wars, that he's ending the war in Ukraine where American lives could have been killed if Joe Biden was still President today, whether he liked it or not.
"We're talking about NPR and PBS today. We're talking about fake news that was funded with federal funding from American taxpayers. That's what this is about today.
"Not journalists from the UK that should care about their own country."
It's not the first time that Greene has gone viral for all the wrong reasons, either - as she sparked controversy in 2022 after personally posting a video of her appearing to kick a youth activist.
And for the record, Greene - us Brits have belting accents.
